Named after the elusive Andean bear—which has been sighted in the surrounding ecological reserve—this coffee is from Cooperativa Agraria Frontera San Ignacio (COOPAFSI). These producers follow organic practices which contribute to the preservation of the environment.
COOPAFSI was founded in 1968 and today it offers services to its 453 members, including access to a wet mill in San Ignacio, a dry mill in Chiclayo, two quality control labs run by Q Graders, and access to a plant nursery and organic fertilizer.
